I am trying to write more regular updates... Some work has been done on both cars this week.
I shall start with the Mini - with some help from work colleagues some large holes were made in the end plates for the clutch master cylinder adaptor that I made so it could be welded together. Once I had done that, I spent some time with my sander and made sure that the master cylinder fitted and the whole thing fitted in the car. I haven't actually fitted it yet though as I am going to have to remove the engine and transmission along with the sub-frame to try and fit the radiator.
...and now a quick word about the bane of my life, the Mazda. Some time was spent arguing with the exhaust system. Most of it went on with no problems, but the manifold was a pain. The problem was the E G R pipe. According to the internet it could be bent but this seems easier said than done. After a couple of hours, and it moving further away from where it should be, I decided to cut it and put a bit of hose in the middle. We couldn't get it to start as the battery was knackered so we tried to jump start it, but even that would not work . A new battery has been ordered and we did get some good wooooshhhy noises out of the Focus ST!
